It has been a delight to work with Fanny over the summer, and we are so sad to see her go. Get to know all about Fanny and check out what she’s been up to!
1. Can you give us a two sentence bio about yourself?
I am a young graduate with a degree in environment and renewable energy from an engineering school. I am from a city called La Rochelle in France, and I am working as an intern at Ampower.
2. What do you do at Ampower on a daily basis?
I am helping Ampower to get into contracts (Power Purchase Agreements) with small and medium green generators in the UK so that Ampower can supply more green energy to its customers. I am also analysing green technologies such as battery storage and other forms of generations like ground source heat pumps so that Ampower can provide innovative energy solutions to their customers.
3. What do you enjoy most about your job?
Supporting Ampower in their green sourcing strategies. I am also enjoying developing and enhancing my energy knowledge by meeting new professionals in this exciting sector every week. I also get opportunities to attend the events, seminars relevant to this subject.
4. What advice were you given in your career that has stuck with you?
My parents have always told me that if I find a job that I love I will be happy to wake up every morning to do it and that’s now for me the most important thing about the job. They always told me that being curious is an essential quality in the professional world; one cannot blame you for being too curious (or they are wrong to do it).
5. As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I always wanted to be a vet as I loved animals, especially donkeys, it’s still one of my favourite animals 😊. But today I want to work in something totally different and keep this passion for nature and animal as a hobby.
6. How do you relax when you’re not at work?
I love spending time with my friends over a drink. I also love drawing and painting especially watercolours. I enjoy hiking to new places as well. I recently hiked at Snowdonia mountains in Wales, and I really loved it.
7. What accomplishment are you most proud of?
The ascent of Mont Blanc, the highest mountain of Europe at the top of it, an incredible 4800 meters altitude.
8. What is your most treasured possession?
My grandmother, who has just reached 100; is a superb life example for me and my sense of adventure comes from her. I discovered Vietnam and Mexico alone, and my grandma always told me that she used to travel a lot too when she was as young as me.
9. Tell us something different about yourself?
I love playing board games with family or friends, but I hate to lose!
10. Summary
I am proud to have taken part in this new energy strategy and discovered how an energy supply company is managed. By the way, I am happy to have made some progress in English too!
I hope a beautiful future for Ampower and a lot of green vibes.
