Can you give us a two sentence bio about yourself?
As a hard-working individual, I am a great team player whilst also being self-sufficient. I’m able to work well under pressure and adapt to tasks given to me, making sure what I do is efficient and accurate. I have just completed my first year in the energy industry. People who know me say I am a very humble and family orientated person, always putting others before myself.
What do you do at Ampower on a daily basis?
For the year I have been at Ampower, I have dedicated my time to the operations and customer service team. On a day to day basis, I tend to deal with the Change of Tenancies. This is investigating when Domestic and/or Commercial customers change their details or move out or into their property. Alongside this, I would take customer calls and help the operations team quote and create contracts.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Who doesn’t love a challenge? I love how every case and customer queries are different. This makes work a challenge. Every day I know I am going to come into a different scenario or situation. I also really like the environment and how I have my work-family. It’s a fantastic place to be, and everyone here really supports one another.
What advice were you given in your career that has stuck with you?
My Father always said you are not employed to work, but to learn. This has always stuck by me. I am always motivated to learn new things and advance my knowledge.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Well.. Numbers have always been my strongest point. I always knew I wanted to go into the finance world. As a child, I used to play brain training game on my Nintendo DS.
How do you relax when you’re not at work?
In my free time, I like to keep myself active. I enjoy going to the gym and on bike rides. You can also find me socialising with friends and family, also love having a cheeky pint down the pub… who doesn’t love a cold beverage?
What are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the person I have become over the years. Some life situations have moulded me into a better person. This year especially I have focused on myself and become better mentally and physically. Always turn something negative into a positive. I believe things happen for a reason.
What is your guilty pleasure?
Hot Galab Jaman (Indian Dessert) and Ice Cream – I have such a bad sweet tooth.
Tell us something different about yourself?
I hate birds, I have had a fear of Pigeons and Crows from a young age.
