Spotlight on Sandip Sali

1. Can you give us a two sentence bio about yourself?

I am an Electrical Engineer and MBA in finance. I have worked in the Energy and Utilities businesses for many years. I co-founded Ampoweruk Ltd last year and am now managing the company in the capacity of MD. Ampoweruk ltd is a leading Gas and Electricity supplier company based in Milton Keynes.

2. What do you do at Ampower on a daily basis?

Oversee the day to day functions of managing Ampower. Mostly strategic growth, investments, funding and support to Operations, Sales, Technical and Accounting organisation.

3. What do you enjoy most about your job?

Getting to know new customers, partners and working shoulder to shoulder with talented employees. I like the everyday challenge of the business.

4. What advice were you given in your career that has stuck with you?

To have a positive attitude and passion for your job. With these two things, you can progress in your career and achieve success.

5. As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to work with big, multinational companies and reputable businesses.

6. How do you relax when you’re not at work?

I like politics – so I spend most of the time reading and watching the news as well as political analysis. I also love to spend time with my family.

7. What accomplishment are you most proud of?

Running your own successful business which was started from scratch is a good accomplishment, and I am really proud of it.

8. What is your most treasured possession?

My childhood books, diaries and the best time spent with my parents and siblings when I was a child.

9. Tell us something different about yourself?

I often get bored with a steady life and doing the same thing for a long time; these things scares me a lot.

10. Summary

In summary, as with most of the human beings, I did not plan for my life and career. It just happened and was shaped as I grew up. But now I think I have clarity on what needs to be done going forward.

Setting up Ampoweruk Ltd has given me a wonderful vision, which is to build a successful business, not to become successful myself but make those who work with me and their families to be happy and prosperous. As well as feeling proud to be associated with Ampower.
